during one of her trips in India, barbara came across old indian blankets. she immediately saw that something very beautiful could arise. together with our first Indian supplier mr kapur, we started the first new antic styles collection, since 2012. 

now 11 years later, we are so proud this collection is still so much alive and had led to so many happy people get their own unique piece.

together with our lovely partner we upcycle these beautiful indian blankets, worn by indian women for generations. the indian blankets are consciously chosen by barbara and her team before being upcycled into a new by-bar favorite. We put love, care and passion into the designs and quality, so that you can enjoy these unique styles season after season.

personal and long-term relations are at the core of by-bar. we have been working with most of our suppliers and partners since the start, with whom we built a trustful relationship.

we always strive to offer the best quality in everything we do, and we aim for the best quality of our products and materials we work with. we’re always on the lookout for new, more sustainable alternatives. we visit our suppliers several times a year to work closely together, offering high-quality and conscious-made styles for a wardrobe that last.
